1. Introduction

Moveo Ride Ltd. ("Moveo", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Moveo ride-booking platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website, mobile web app, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By using Moveo, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

2. Account Data

When you register for a Moveo account, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Encrypted password (hashed; we never store plain-text passwords)
  • User role (client, driver, or admin)
  • Account creation date and last login timestamp

We use this data to create and manage your account, authenticate you, and provide customer support.

3. Location Usage

Moveo requires access to your device's location for core functionality:

  • Pickup points: We use your location to suggest and set pickup addresses when you book a ride.
  • Route calculation: We process pickup and destination coordinates to calculate optimal routes and estimated travel times.
  • Driver tracking: During an active ride, drivers' locations may be shared with the assigned passenger for arrival estimation.

Location data is collected only when you actively use the booking feature or during an active ride. We do not track your location in the background when the app is closed. You may deny location permission and manually enter addresses instead.

4. Ride History

We store a record of every ride booked through Moveo, including:

  • Pickup and drop-off addresses and coordinates
  • Date and time of booking and completion
  • Assigned driver details
  • Ride status (pending, confirmed, completed, cancelled)
  • Fare amount and payment method
  • Ratings and feedback submitted by you or the driver

Ride history is retained for 3 years after account closure for legal, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes, unless a shorter period is required by Bulgarian law.

5. Payments

Moveo processes payments through certified third-party payment providers. We do not store full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account credentials on our servers.

We do collect and store:

  • Payment method type (cash, card, Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  • Transaction IDs and timestamps
  • Payment status (pending, succeeded, failed, refunded)
  • Applied promo codes and discounts
  • Subscription/package purchase history

All payment data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest.

6. Notifications

We send notifications to keep you informed about your rides:

  • Booking confirmations and reminders
  • Driver assignment and arrival updates
  • Ride status changes (started, completed, cancelled)
  • Promotional offers and subscription updates (only if opted in)
  • Security alerts (suspicious login, password changes)

You can manage notification preferences in your account settings. We never sell your contact information to third parties for marketing.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Moveo uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in across sessions
  • Remember your preferences (language, theme)
  • Analyse traffic and app performance (aggregated, anonymised)
  • Prevent fraud and abuse

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent login and booking functionality.

8. Data Sharing

We only share your data in the following limited circumstances:

  • With your driver: Name, phone number, pickup/drop-off addresses, and ride notes for the specific trip.
  • Service providers: Payment processors, cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics platforms under strict data-processing agreements.
  • Legal compliance: When required by Bulgarian or EU law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

We never sell or rent your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

9. Your Rights

Under the GDPR and Bulgarian data-protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Object to certain processing activities
  • Withdraw consent for optional communications
  • Lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection
